Project Overview

KBA+D was an architecture and interior design practice based in Edinburgh. The client wanted a refreshed website that worked better across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

The original website had usability and content-management limitations, including weak mobile responsiveness, heavy text areas, unoptimised imagery, and no admin system for managing projects, locations, and categories.

The renewed version focused on a cleaner one-page experience, responsive layouts, project browsing, contact form functionality, interactive maps, and a CMS-backed admin area.

My Contribution

• Designed the interface and implemented the back-end functionality for the project.
• Built responsive layouts with Bootstrap for mobile, tablet, and desktop screens.
• Implemented project, category, and location management through an admin CMS.
• Added admin login and password hashing with salting.
• Displayed project and category data from a MySQL database.
• Added contact form and interactive Google Map functionality.
• Implemented read-more/read-less interactions and image hover effects.
• Added input validation and protection against SQL injection.
